WHAT IS THE COOLGLIDE LASER SYSTEM ?
Using technology beyond that of other lasers, the CoolGlide can disable hundreds of follicles, in less than 1 second, and assures long lasting results. It is a non-invasive laser specifically designed to eliminate undesired hair from all parts of the body. The CoolGlide system generates laser light through an actively-cooled handpiece. The light then effectively diables unwanted pigmented hair follicles in the actively growing phase of the hair cycle. Hair growth occurs through a cycle which involves an actively-growing phase and a resting phase, with different hair follicles in different phases at the same time. The laser attacks only those hairs in the growing phase.That is the reason for needing more than 1 treatment with the laser, so that hairs which were previously in the resting phase can later be treated when they are in the growing phase.
WHAT PARTS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED WITH THE LASER?
The CoolGlide laser can remove hair from all parts of the body including the Face, Arms, Underarms, Chest, Back, Nipples, Bikini and Legs.
DOES SKIN COLOR MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
The CoolGlide laser can work on a variety of skin types from very light to dark skin, with those with very fair skin responding the best. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure prior to treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
The number of treatments varies depending on a number of factors including the area to be treated, hair density, and the hair's growth cycle. Usually 2- 5 treatments are necessary each spaced 5 weeks apart.
WHAT ARE COOLGLIDE LASER TREATMENTS LIKE?
The CoolGlide laser cools and soothes the skin as it glides along.When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild stinging or pinching sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically necessary. Some patients prefer a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated.
AFTER TREATMENT CARE
One can return to normal activities immediately. A skin care regimen should be routinely used. The use of sunscreen on treated areas exposed is highly recommended.
WHAT ARE SIDE EFFECTS?
Short term side effects may include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling. These effects typically last less than 1 hour, but, on occasion may last a few days. In rare instances there may be blistering.
HOW DOES COOLGLIDE LASER COMPARE TO OTHER HAIR REMOVAL METHODS?
Shaving, waxing and depilatory creams are all very temporary requiring repeated treatments. CoolGlide effects long lasting results.
Electrolysis is a tedious, invasive and painful process that involves inserting a needle into each hair follicle and delivering an electrical charge to destroy each follicle one at a time.Electrolysis may require years of treatment at regular intervals.CoolGlide delivers non-invasive light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at one time. The number of treatments is usually 2- 5 each spaced about 5 weeks apart.
